A Note from Highworth Tennis Club
It is safe to say these past weeks have been among some of the most tumultuous and emotional that any of us can remember in our lifetimes. The impact of the Coronavirus outbreak has been felt by individuals and families, companies and communities, across the United Kingdom and around the world.
Highworth Tennis Club is doing the best we can under the circumstances.
Important things to note are:
We have extended the 2020-2021 membership year to end April 30, 2021 pending approval at the next AGM. Your membership payments will not change.
UPDATE: The LTA and government guidelines now allow for singles and doubles on tennis courts. Two-meter (6 feet) rule still applies and the clubhouse is closed to non-members so there are no toilet facilities.
Courts are available for hire by non-members at £6 per hour per court. Please use our court booking system:

WHAT WE OFFER
We provide tennis for adults and juniors across a range of activities. Adults of any skill can join in our regular, weekly social sessions. Our teams of men, ladies, mixed doubles and juniors play competitive league tennis.
Our junior programme caters for ages 5-16.
Our Walking Tennis initiative opens the door to those want tennis at a gentler pace, and for potential players who want an introduction to the game we run Tennis Xpress courses.
We have a full junior coaching programme and various adult coaching sessions tailored to individual needs.
The Club is proud to be able to offer a range of customer tennis clothing through its Club Shop.
Netball courts are available for clubs and teams to hire.
Social tennis is available at three sessions each week – Thursday 2-4 pm, Friday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 pm. This is where like-minded players come together to play friendly games of doubles with the odd singles matches thrown in. Arrangements are very informal and players can choose to join in as much or as little as they wish and attend whenever they like.
Occasionally social sessions are blessed with homemade cakes and tea!
HTC currently has twelve adult and junior teams playing in leagues throughout the year. So if you want to take your tennis to the next level ask about our teams and get involved in one of the weekly team practice sessions.

Even the best players need coaching!
We have a comprehensive programme starting with juniors aged 5 years though to 16 years.
Tennis Xpress courses are for those wanting to start playing tennis or returning after a long layoff.
Personal 1-to-1 coaching, team sessions and tennis development are available in a highly tailored and customised environment. Whether you want to develop a wide range of skills to improve your game or simple correct one aspect, coaching is ideal. Call the number above to discuss, or drop us an email.
For a fast and effective introduction to tennis try Tennis Xpress.
Designed as a nine-hour course over six weeks, Tennis Xpress is centred on the use of modified equipment such as slower-bouncing green and orange balls to ensure that players quickly learn the game of tennis, being able to serve, rally and score by the end of the course.
The course is ideal for complete beginners or for those who have played tennis before and wish to return to the sport after many years.
